Hi,

I can't remember every medical storyline but I was wondering if Saving Hope had ever covered an electrolyte imbalance on the show?

It's been mentioned once or twice, maybe just as a possible issue, not sure if it's been a specific problem with a patient. The young patient from You Can't Always Get What You Want had all sorts of problems. Alex and Jeremy were trying to figure it out and I think Alex mentioned something about his electrolytes.

Thanks. Just what I was looking for - the kid made himself have hypernatremia or high blood sodium which caused the seizures etc. Sodium is just one of the electrolytes that can cause havoc with your system if you have too much or too little in your system.

Other electrolytes are calcium, potassium, chlorine, magnesium and phospates.

Why anyone would willingly put themselves through it - no idea. I wouldn't even do it to get a parents attention.
