OMG! How many months to wait till season five? GOSH!
I'm still shocked and elated and shocked... What an episode! What a roller coaster... Brilliant writing, excellent acting, some amazing scenes between Alex and Charlie, loved the return of Charlie's voice-overs... wow... and so many thoughts about the ending. Wow!
It's this love-hate-relationship you can have with certain series, and Saving Hope is one of those series for me. I love it, really do, but after such an episode I totally hate it. I hate it for making us believe something really bad would happen, letting us wait for month before it's going to be resolved and wanting it so much ...
Actually, I'm not sure this time. They've pretended to kill Charlie so many time this time it could be true, I mean, how would somebody miss standing so close to him and why did the ghost say, it's time to go? You could say, Michael is enlisted in the season 5 cast. But there are options. A, he isn't in it and they pretend for the purpose of not letting us know how it all ends or B, he's going to be a ghost who can't let go because he can't get over his own death and leaving Alex and Luke behind.
We'll see, but I'm not certain this time, that everything will turn out well. It would be too good, wouldn't it?
Thing is Saving Hope likes changing it up every season.
Season 1 was Charlie in a coma & Alex dealing with that and an ex coming to work with her.
Season 2 Charlie was out of the coma and dealing with ghosties and splitting up with Alex
Season 3 was Alex recovering from heart surgery and the love triangle with Charlie/Joel - it was Alex this time that wanted space from Charlie
Season 4 was them both being happy and Joel was gone, there was a baby.
Season 5 could be Alex in a coma for all we know or Michael in a coma.
You say they could announce he's returning but he isn't. Not sure that's an option because of contracts and as soon as they start filming season 5 its going to be obvious. If Michael is tweeting from another set whilst everyone else is filming then it'll be obvious.
But I'm kinda slightly annoyed that I looked at the stills from the eppy because knowing that the fellowship awards event was after the surgery and knowing Charlie was there, meant I knew he wouldn't die.
In case anyone hasn't noticed I merged the Episode 17 and 18 threads. CTV even has them as one long video on their site, and we don't have to worry about keeping the events of each one straight, just post everything here.
A few quick thoughts, I need to watch again to really process everything.
Welcome back voiceovers! Lots of them, some good ones but can't remember them all.
I think Crenshaw shot Charlie. It was Charlie he was after, and I think the gun went slightly in Charlie’s direction right before the cut. Did Crenshaw escape, or did he win his appeal? If he won, would he be that pissed about spending a few extra months in prison, only to be put back after this incident? Revenge may be sweet but it makes people idiots.
I think anything is possible to start off season 5. My guess is no comas (too repetitive) just trauma for one episode saving the persons life. Or, they could die and spend the whole season as a ghost. I think priggy is right, we'll know via tweets if someone seems to have left the show early in the season.
One guy did give Crenshaw a curious look as he walked by, but he didn't pull the gun until the very end.
I think this will wrap up very quickly at the start of next season. Either no one miraculously got shot or the victim will pull through without too much trouble. I doubt they will go down the coma road again.
Kristine was odd...again. In her mind she did lose her daughter after that crash so to speak. So maybe she made up part of the story to help her cope, or maybe she actually believes it. I don't think her drinking, and later the tumor, were doing her any favors.
