Worried about the lack of family in her baby Luke’s life, Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) gets more than she bargained for when Kyle Sawyer (Yani Gellman, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS), the man responsible for her deceased brother’s drug problem, is admitted to Hope Zion Hospital with a stomach complication. Unable to be objective, Alex quickly gives away the surgery, but when a second surgeon is required for the operation Alex must struggle to save the life of the man who ruined her brother’s.
The synopsis for “Miss You” reads: Worried about the lack of family in her baby Luke’s life, Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) gets more than she bargained for when Kyle Sawyer (Yani Gellman, Pretty Little Liars), the man responsible for her deceased brother’s drug problem, is admitted to Hope Zion Hospital with a life or death stomach complication. Unable to be objective, Alex quickly gives away the surgery, but when a second surgeon is required for the operation Alex must struggle to save the life of the man who ruined her brother’s. Meanwhile, when Elizabeth Grant (Charlotte Sullivan, Rookie Blue), the victim of a horrific acid attack, is rushed to surgery, Dr. Cassie Williams (Kim Shaw, The Good Wife) struggles to remain objective, putting the life of her patient at risk. It’s up to Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) to teach the young surgeon to put aside her own feelings and focus on the medicine in order to save their patient’s life. In the E.R., Dr. Zach Miller (Benjamin Ayres) must get a patient suffering from self-imposed psycho-paralysis to confront her past to regain the use of her legs.
Note to self: do NOT lie to Charlie Harris! And I thought he looked pissed at the end of last episode. But then we get a softer side of him as well talking with the burn victim. Michael Shanks knocking both out of the park as usual.
Of course they try and make us think Crenshaw remembers Charlie when he woke up, but I don't think it was any more than a funny do-I-know-you type feeling. However, his spirit will remember, and if anything happens to Crenshaw then who knows what his spirit is capable of (we've actually never seen an angry or vengeful spirit before so we really don't know).
Great to see Dana again, Cassie is learning some valuable lessons.
Thought it might be a repeat of the season 1 conversion disorder but played out a lot differently, great work by Zach and hopefully it helped him a bit with his feelings about Joel's death.
And of course Baby Luke is such a cutie...wonder if we'll meet Alex's mom sometime.
Great character interplay never knew where it was going... great! Lovely to see Dana again always love it when she is in the show!
And yep knew he was a bastard! I think he may remember something due to the fact that how he went was so different from the others... also it will explain some of the things they have been hinting at... about creepy ghosts...
I watched the episode last night. What a great episode, makes me feel so much for this show really. ^_^
I don't think the ghost who was in coma can remember anything, they haven't go there yet, unless they want to add something new to the show this season. I wouldn't mind, so they can bring some more excitement and see what Charlie would do about that situation.
This Season of Saving Hope is continually delivering the goods. Another excellent and enjoyable episode. Pleased to see Dana make an appearance and I hope we see more of her. Michael was brilliant, the range of emotions he can produce. One second angry as hell, the next, kind and gentle.
Here are some screen caps I made.
Basic human contact is bigger than any idea. It takes you outside yourself. It's more comforting than words. Without it, we'd die. Sometimes, it's not enough. And sometimes it's enough for now. Contact grounds you. It brings you back - Charlie Harris
