Since Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) turned down Dr. Charlie Harris’s (Michael Shanks) marriage proposal, neither knows where their relationship stands. Focusing on work, Alex clashes with Dr. Maggie Lin (Julia Taylor Ross) over whether or not to include a car crash survivor in their cancer study. Meanwhile, Dr. Dana Kinney’s (Wendy Crewson) resolve to recertify in Trauma is tested when Dr. Dawn Bell (Michelle Nolden) pushes her to treat an injured motorcyclist, and Charlie is called in to help with the surgery despite the fact he’s still recovering from the injury to his arm. Dr. Zach Miller (Benjamin Ayres) pesters Maggie to start dating.
Alex taking her mood out on everyone, and yes, I'm glad Charlie finally called her out on it and got her to talk. I wonder how Charlie traced everything back to her mother/childhood so fast, and is that the main issue? Is Alex afraid that she can't be permanently happy, or is it that + she thinks she's cursed + Charlie's ghosts? She was more supportive last season but I still don't think she's 100% ok with it.
Of course I think they will work things out, it's just going to take time and effort. But they certainly seem like they have a good support group, everyone wants to see ChAlex succeed.
I found this episode rather hard. I've never seen Charlie so angry at Alex. It was painful to watch, and the moment when he left the apartment and almost knocked on the door and I was going "Yes! Go back in - fix it all up!" and it didn't happen... sigh....
We rarely see Charlie and Alex fight...I really think Charlie needed to speak up there. I'm sure he wanted to go back in, but he was either too fired up or he figured he couldn't say anything else at that point. Hopefully with space and time Alex will come around.
