After the gunshot at the end of last season’s finale, Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) searches for Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) in the following chaos, but instead comes across a caterer named Grace (Masa Lizdek, LOST GIRL) who was unknowingly caught in the crossfire. At Hope Zion, Grace’s mother asks Alex for a priest, but the only person Alex can find is the pious interventional radiologist Dr. Manny Palmer (Jarod Joseph, ONCE UPON A TIME). Together, the two work quickly to try to save Grace’s life. As news of the shooting spreads, Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) arrives at the hospital to lend a hand but instead ends up consulting on a case with Dr. Cassie Williams (Kim Shaw) involving a male stripper instead.
I've also seen the title 'Doctor Destiny', but all press releases today have used Dustiny. Don't know if we'll get an episode preview on top of the general season preview but will post that and stills as soon as they become available.
OMG! I'm still tearing! They tied this one up excellently! I was so certain somebody would die and somehow I was certain Charlie was saved. Didn't expect him to be injured so badly.
The conversation in the end between Charlie and Alex, God! That's why I love this show so much - those tender bitter sweet moments between them - the strong emotions, their love and their fears. I loved how they finally continued the line from season four where Alex promises she will stay away from Charlie if he is saved - the way it was all tied up together was great!
I'm wondering what Alex thinks about Charlie still seeing ghosts after the operation and especially after not having seen them for a while. I'm thinking she should worry his tumor is still there but with so much going on she might no be able to deal with this.
The other story lines were great - I'm still waiting to see how they will develop things for Maggie.
Why did Charlie say that things between him and Alex weren't so great? They seemed fine in the end of season four.
Caught that too...perhaps Alex was keeping her distance from him as per her bargain (I'll stay away from him, I swear). Obviously she hadn't completely stayed away, but enough for Charlie to notice. Or maybe there was just some post-surgery/rehab stress.
Another thing...Charlie again overstated his time in a coma, telling Grace he was in it for 8 months, not 3. Perhaps including rehab time or just an error on his part (or the writers')?
